Bear

I began to use my original Bear about sixteen years ago. He was an instant hit with children and soon became a very precious resource in my teacher training work.  Teachers were always asking me where they could get a puppet like mine. To begin with I found some individual bear puppets for them. When I visited classes that were using the other bears the children called my puppet Big Bear – their own puppet had a separate name.  They liked the idea that Big Bear was looking out for all his little cousins around the world and obviously all the bears were related! These are the  ones that the teachers are using on the DVD in  my book Teaching with Bear.   When I was writing  it I designed a bear puppet like my original Bear  for the Teaching with Bear pack. Now a whole new set of cousins are having great experiences working with children around the world!
